The safety and quality of the toys is a top concern for all consumers, driving the need for strict standards and thorough testing. In Vietnam, toys domestically manufactured or imported must have a declaration of conformity, a conformity mark (CR mark), and proper labeling before being placed on the market, in accordance with Vietnamese regulation QCVN 3:2019/BKHCN issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

This technical regulation provides for safety requirements for toys, corresponding testing methods and requirements for quality control of toys domestically manufactured, imported and sold on the market.

Why this certification is essential?

Ensuring safety: Toys certified for compliance meet safety standards, helping protect children from risks such as poisoning or injury due to poor-quality toys.

Regulatory compliance: Certification is a legal requirement for the sale of toys in the Vietnamese market, helping businesses comply with regulatory standards and avoid potential penalties.

Enhancing reputation and competitiveness: Businesses with certified products can build customer trust, improving brand reputation and competitive advantage.

Facilitating market access: Certified products have easier access to major distribution channels, expanding business opportunities.

Technical requirements and Testing methods

Declaration of conformity for toys must be prepared based on conformity assessment results given by a certification body that has registered its certification services. The key technical regulations and testing methods under QCVN 3:2019/BKHCN are summarized below:
