Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Loc Troi Group and Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang co.,ltd
On April 14, 2021, in HCM City, Loc Troi Agriculture Research Institute ( a member of Loc Troi Group) and Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang Co., Ltd. (a member of Eurofins Scientific) signed an MOU to cooperate on the research & development of soil database, experiment & application of soil nutritional analysis and soil fertility evaluation system (referred to as “NIRs technology”).

Introduction
NIRs is the technology that uses near-infrared spectroscopy to assess, analyze the quality of soil, materials and products. NIRs is considered as an environmentally friendly technology, which is more optimal than traditional technologies with fast turn-around time, high reliability and highly cost-effective. Therefore, this technology is an indispensable part of Loc Troi as the group is aiming to produce high-quality agricultural products which meet the requirements of the most demanding markets such as: US, EU, Japan,… With more than 28 years of operating in agricultural business, Loc Troi is managing over one million hectares of raw material areas, a wide network of agencies, and a team of more than 1.300 “Three-together” agricultural engineers together with a strong connection with more than 250.000 farmers across the whole country, providing samples for building soil database as well as supporting experiment of NIRs technology is affirmed as the strength of the Group.
Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang is a member of Eurofins Scientific with over 50,000 staff across a decentralized and entrepreneurial network of more than 800 laboratories in over 50 countries; the Group believes itself as the world leader in food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic product testing and in agroscience services such as: analyzing soil nutrition, soil structure, water retention capability, quality of organic matters and microbial activity in soil based on which recommendation can be made to support optimizing fertilization and irrigation,…which often contribute to reducing farming cost, increasing yield, crop quality and improving soil fertility.
Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Both companies signed the MOU which marks the initial step of cooperation on the two main categories: (1) Collaboration on research & building the NIRs database and (2) collaboration on testing and applying the NIRs technology.
According to the agreement, in category (1), soil samples will be collected at all raw material areas across the country of Loc Troi following the guidelines of Eurofins. These samples will be analyzed and evaluated the quality. When testing results are available, Eurofins will support with recommendations on the process of improving soil fertility, optimizing fertilizing and irrigating; at the same time, Eurofins will provide the training for the “Three-Together” agricultural engineer team of Loc Troi on how to utilize the information provided by the testing reports of Eurofins. By taking this activity, Loc Troi believes that the professional knowledge of the “Three-Together” team will be improved to help farmers to have blessed harvests.
In category (2), the two entities will choose some typical cooperatives to apply NIRs technology in order to evaluate the reliability of the reports as well as to improve and perfect the recommendation on the process of fertilization and irrigation at farming areas of Loc Troi Group. With the cooperation period expected to last many years, Loc Troi will focus on building farming processes that meet international standards, gradually apply science and technology into farming and processing activities in order to help farmers to have stable incomes and to protect the environment.
In the near future, applying NIRs technology to analyze soil nutrition is oriented to become one of the key technology in producing high-quality agri-products. Since then, agricultural products exporting entities will have raw material areas that are built and managed in a proper way to meet the international standards to enter the most demanding markets such as the US, EU, Japan, Korea,…
Signing MOU between Loc Troi Agriculture Research Institute and Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang initiates a long-term cooperation activity between the two organizations, which promises to open more opportunities between Loc Troi Group and related companies on utilizing resources of each other, reducing operation cost and increasing product value as well as bringing highest benefit to consumers which again affirms the motte of Loc Troi Group: “Growing sustainably together with farmers”.
