Overview

Tricyclazole compounds belong to the group of compounds Triazolobenzothiazoles. Active ingredients used in many plant protection products have the ability to kill fungi with high conductivity
This active ingredient is difficult to volatilize and is very stable, in soil and water environments, not easily decomposed under light and rain. It is often widely used in cultivation, especially rice cultivation, specifically to control rice blast disease. (Pyricularia oryzae) in seeds as well as systemic fungicides, it can be said that this is the active ingredient with the best ability to prevent blast disease today. In addition to prevention, it also helps to increase the yield and quality of rice plants
In plant tissues, in addition to the tricyclazole form, there is also a metabolite tricyclazole-OH. Both forms are very durable.

Regulations of the market

Tricyclazole is on the list of pesticides allowed to be used in Vietnam according to Circular No. 19/2021/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and is controlled at maximum residue levels in food. according to Circular 50/2016/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health.
Previously, the EU allowed the maximum level of Tricyclazole residues in imported rice to be 1 mg/kg. Since January 2018, the EU has lowered the maximum allowable residue level of tricyclazole in imported rice to 0,01 mg/kg. In addition, in some other markets, there are specific residue control thresholds as follows:

US: 3 mg/kg
Japan: 0,01 mg/kg
Korea: 0,7 mg/kg
China: 5 mg/kg.

In 2022, Vietnam also received some warnings from the EU about the contamination of tricyclazole residues in food, especially rice, specifically as follows:
