Issue regulations (EU) 2024/1318 and (EU) 2024/1314 on changing the maximum limit threshold for pesticides Prothioconazole and Dithianonin.
On 16 May 2024, the European Union issued Regulations (EU) 2024/1318 and (EU) 2024/1314 amending regulation (EC) No 396/2005 relating to maximum residue levels for with Prothioconazole and Dithianonin in Appendices II and III, in or on certain products, specifically as follows
- EU promulgation (EU) 2024/1318 will apply increased Prothioconazole residue levels on sugar beet roots and chicory roots compared to current regulations as follows:

Promulgation of regulations (EU) 2024/1355 and (EU) 2024/1342 on changing the maximum limit threshold for pesticides in annexes II and III of (EC) No 396/2005.
On 22 May 2024, the European Union issued Regulations (EU) 2024/1355 and (EU) 2024/1342 amending regulation (EC) No 396/2005 relating to maximum residue levels for with pesticides in or on certain products, specifically as follows
- EU issued (EU) 2024/1355 will apply increased residue levels of Benzovindiflupyr, Chlorantraniliprole, Emamectin, Quinclorac, Spiromesifen and Triflumuron on some foods, specifically the Chlorantraniliprole indicator in Tea has an increase from 0.05 -> 80 mg/kg , much higher than current regulations

EU issued (EU) 2024/1342 applying changes to the residue levels of Deltamethrin, Metalaxyl, Thiabendazole and Trifloxystrobin on certain foods
Some information need to focus as follows:
- For Deltamethrin: MRL decreased overall in citrus fruit from 0.04 to 0.02ppm, tree nuts from 0.02 to 0.01ppm. Kiwi dropped sharply from 0.15 to 0.01ppm, potatoes dropped from 0.3 to 0.01ppm.
- For Metalaxyl: increase MRL of black pepper and white pepper from 0.05 to 2ppm. Reduce MRL for lemons from 0.5 to 0.01ppm, soybeans from 0.1 to 0.01ppm.
- For Thiabendazole: reduce MRL of avocado from 20 to 15ppm, papaya from 10 to LOQ 0.01ppm.
- Trifloxystrobin: reduces passion fruit MRL from 4 to LOQ 0.01ppm.

South Korea
Updated Food Law on May 17, 2024
On May 17, 2024, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued the latest amendments to the Food Law. Amendments relating to residue limits for pesticides and veterinary drugs. Details are as follows:
- Pesticides: Food MRLs have been revised for the following 57 substances.
- Veterinary Medicine: Food MRLs have been revised for the following 11 substances.
